Yesterday (May 2nd), we all took a two-hour train ride from Sydney up to the Blue Mountains for a very exciting day!!! The blue Mountains was unique for so many reasons!!! Firstly, we were introduced to our magnificent tour guide, Warren. After our introduction, we maneuvered through the Blue Mountains. Along the tour, Warren stopped at various intervals to explain the different plants and animals that were along the trail of the Blue Mountain. One interesting animal that stood out to me was the Funnel-Webbed Spider. This spider is nocturnal by nature and usually only comes out in the day if it is being bothered by an outside force, usually predators. This spider has powerful venom that can do great damage to its victims. Further along the trail, we descended down into the Rain Forest section of the Blue Mountains, where the temperature was significantly cooler than up above where we previously were. After our 4+ hour hike, we finally arrived at our end-point with a lot more information than we had prior to the tour of Blue Mountains. During the day, we also enjoyed lunch at Scenic Point, and heard many interesting mythical stories about the Aboriginal people from Warren, our tour guide. After the tour of Blue Mountains, we said goodbye to Warren and boarded our 2-hour train ride back to Sydney for the night. On the train ride, Amy, Scott, Brian, and I enjoyed several games of playing cards!!! Back in Sydney, we went exploring for dinner, and finally hit the sheets as we were all equally exhausted from our longggg and adventurous day!!! So long for now...I'll be back soon with more breath-taking stories!!!
