Day out in Canberra

Today, May 5, we spent the day touring around Canberra which is the capital of Australia. We got the chance to see the Parliament House, U.S. Embassy, ANZAC War Memorial, and we walked around the ANZAC Parade which had a bunch of monuments honoring/remembering the Australian Soldiers who fought in various Wars and Services. My favorite thing about the day was going to Mt. Ainslie which was a lookout that allowed us to see the entire city of Canberra from this one hilltop. Canberra is a planned city and the design of it is layed out so that four important buildings/structures in Canberra are all in a line with one another. The Parliament House, Old Parliament House, Anzac Parade, and the ANZAC War Memorial are all in a line with eachother. This was part of the design for Canberra that Walter Burley Griffin had planned. I am posting a picture of the view from Mt. Ainslie and in it are the four places that I mentioned which are all in a line with one another.
