A Few Other Moments from the Blue Mountains

Three more photos from the Blue Mountains walk:

1.  A Funnel-Web Spider lair.  The spider is nocturnal.  At night, she will sit just inside the hole, with her front legs on the sticky web on the outside.  When prey lands on the web, out she'll some to snatch it.

2.  The Furber Stairs.  These stairs descend alongside the Katoomba Falls, and were cut into the cliffside early in the 20th century.

3.  Our tour guide Warren pointed noted that there was about 150 meters of unsupported sandstone directly above us.  It is not a question of if it will break, but when.  He assures us such events only happen at night.
